About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to develop physical components for automotive customers. The role works closely with product engineers and the component team to deliver new and modified products that meet customer specifications and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models, drawings, IMDS and CAMDS following MM standards, defining dimensions, tolerances, materials and DFMEA.
• Ensure quality of releases and maintain design books, tolerance stacks, guidelines, specifications, DFMEA, prototype control plans, validation plans and reports.
• Collaborate with plants and suppliers on product/process feasibility, VAVE, WCE and benchmarking to guarantee robust production.
• Work with simulation engineers to define simulation boundaries and methodology for accurate inputs and results.
• Define validation plans and DOE for troubleshooting product quality issues during development and production.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the line manager, product engineer or senior designer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack, APQP, PPAP, SPC, program management, cost control and product industrialization.
• Ability to apply FMEA, MSA and ISO/TS16949.
• Experience with at least one of: aluminum casting, nylon plastic molding, steel trimming & bending, component assembly.
• Strong learning ability and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
• Availability for occasional extra‑time work.
