Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to develop physical components for automotive customers. You will work closely with product engineers and the component team to create new parts or modify existing ones, following the company’s design standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, drawings, IMDS and CAMDS data in accordance with company standards.
• Define dimensions, tolerances, materials and ensure compliance with GD&T, DFMEA and MM specifications.
• Maintain the design book, tolerance stack, guidelines, and validation plans, and guarantee their implementation.
• Collaborate with plants and suppliers on feasibility, VAVE, WCE, benchmarking and robustness.
• Work with simulation engineers to set boundary conditions and methodology for accurate simulations.
• Define validation plans and DOE for troubleshooting product quality issues.
• Support prototype control, ELV compliance, and product release activities.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager or senior designer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Experience with engine component design or mechatronic EMS integration is a plus.
• Willingness to work extra hours when needed.

Required skills

• CAD tools: CATIA, AutoCAD, Pro/E, UG.
• Product data management: Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack, APQP, PPAP, SPC.
• Familiarity with ISO/TS16949, FMEA, MSA.
• Experience with aluminum casting, nylon plastic molding, steel trimming & bending, and component assembly.
• Virtual simulation, durability validation, DOE and validation planning.
