Senior HR Director - Luxury Group, Shanghai

About the role

A world-leading luxury group (fashion and cosmetics) is hiring a Senior HR Director for its Shanghai office. The role drives initiatives from the Group such as performance reviews, mobility, training, compensation and benefits, and works closely with the Senior VP HR to support all levels of staff, analyse and implement HR strategies and help achieve business objectives. It reports directly to the Senior VP HR APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into actionable HR plans and ensure their implementation
• Collaborate with HR and business leaders, evaluate ongoing programmes and propose improvements for a competitive people strategy
• Foster a workplace reflecting the Group's culture and values, and drive employees to deliver results
• Build relationships and work with management teams to monitor and implement performance management
• Handle employee relations cases and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Work with the HR Development Manager on training programmes (needs analysis, design, follow-up) and on creative, digital talent acquisition
• Keep office vacancies at a minimum and roll out China HR projects supporting the HR strategy
• Attend the executive committee meetings and report HR results such as retention, open positions, satisfaction and training outcomes
• Manage one or more HR assistants

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above
• 17 to 20 years of solid HR experience covering full HR functions, in luxury retail and/or MNC background
• Ability to handle complex processes and understand internal politics while building an internal brand image
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, interviewing, coaching and influencing skills
• Proactive, self-motivated, people-oriented and leadership qualities
