Senior Buyer – Procurement (Non‑Production Materials)

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead complex procurement projects for non‑production materials and services across China, covering IT, R&D commodities and other categories. You will work closely with Business Units and Global Commodity Managers to ensure sourcing aligns with corporate strategy and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement projects, from purchase planning to contract issuance.
• Prepare and manage RFQ documents, answer supplier queries, and conduct price plausibility checks.
• Design and execute negotiation strategies, prepare award discussions and obtain sourcing approvals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supplier selection with business needs.
• Perform supplier evaluations, risk assessments and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
• Ensure compliance with Mercedes‑Benz procurement policies, company rules and external regulations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership ability in line with Mercedes‑Benz leadership principles.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market investigations and price analyses.
• Proactive collaboration skills with Business Units, Regional and Global Commodity Managers.
• Commitment to compliance, risk management and continuous learning.
