Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

The Quality Engineer safeguards assembly operations and delivery schedules by linking engineering expertise with shop‑floor quality investigations and supplier quality management. Acting as the primary technical liaison between the Final Assembly Line and external suppliers, you will lead hands‑on investigations, root‑cause analyses, and corrective‑action negotiations to ensure full aerospace compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site "Go Look See" investigations on the production line to resolve real‑time quality roadblocks and assess Non‑Conformance Reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Validate and disposition supplier Vendor Non‑Conformance Reports through the Material Review Board process, adjudicate liability, and oversee First Article Inspections to verify aerospace specifications.
• Drive end‑to‑end Root Cause and Corrective Action processes using 8D, 5‑Why, and Ishikawa methods, and track supplier corrective‑action compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in aerospace quality engineering, supply‑chain quality, or high‑precision manufacturing assembly, preferably with Airbus processes.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills to align internal teams and external suppliers.

Required skills

• Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS9100 and EN9100.
• Proficiency with quality data systems, Net‑Inspect, and NCR/MRB tracking platforms.
• Expertise in structured problem‑solving tools: 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa (Cause & Effect analysis).
