Employee Relations Specialist – Global ER Center of Excellence

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join its centralized Employee Relations Center of Excellence. The role will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, HR partners and legal teams, leading complex investigations and performance‑management cases across its global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end employee relations investigations, including fact‑finding, interviews, evidence analysis and reporting.
• Manage performance and conduct matters such as disciplinary actions, performance‑improvement plans and involuntary separations.
• Partner with Global Employment Law, Ethics, Compliance and Security on high‑risk employee issues.
• Provide risk assessments and recommendations to senior leaders, balancing legal, reputational and operational considerations.
• Develop and deliver training for managers on investigations, performance management and workplace conduct.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in employee relations, workplace investigations or employment law within a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to conduct independent, complex investigations and produce clear, objective reports.
• Strong consulting, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills, with executive presence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to handle confidential matters professionally.
