Senior Client Programmer, Project R.I.S.E

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Client Programmer who specializes in Unreal Engine to join our Shanghai studio on Project R.I.S.E. You will design and implement new gameplay features and systems while collaborating closely with designers, artists and other programmers.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with designers and artists to architect and implement new features and systems that enable exciting gameplay experiences.
• Own the end‑to‑end development of combat gameplay modules, including code frameworks, editor tools and production workflows.
• Maintain and evolve character and ability pipelines, providing technical support to designers.
• React to design changes with thoughtful solutions, plan effectively and iterate quickly.
• Debug, troubleshoot and optimise the existing codebase.
• Support the broader development effort by solving additional technical challenges as they arise.

Required profile

• 8+ years of combined industry experience.
• Strong C++ programming skills.
• Good understanding of Unreal Engine’s gameplay framework.
• Demonstrated mastery of object‑oriented programming, design patterns and game‑design principles.
• Highly motivated, adaptable and able to multitask in a fast‑changing environment.
• Effective cross‑discipline communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑starter attitude with experience using AI tools in daily work.
