Director of IT

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Suzhou is seeking a transformative Director of IT to shape and nurture a workplace culture that attracts, inspires, and supports colleagues. The role focuses on developing a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing environment that aligns with the resort’s values and vision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the property’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with operational goals, guest experience standards, and long‑term business objectives.
• Oversee daily operation and security of all IT systems, including network infrastructure, servers, PMS, POS, telephony, Wi‑Fi, and guest‑facing technologies.
• Ensure robust data protection and cybersecurity protocols are continuously monitored and updated.
• Manage IT projects and system upgrades, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimise disruption.
• Provide responsive IT support to all departments, maintaining operational continuity.
• Lead IT budget planning, procurement, software licensing, contract negotiation and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with legal, corporate and regulatory requirements such as GDPR and PCI‑DSS.
• Train and guide property teams on IT systems and digital tools, promoting digital literacy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably within luxury hospitality or multi‑outlet operations.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality systems such as PMS, POS, CRM, VOIP and guest‑facing technologies.
• Strategic mindset with hands‑on capabilities and a solution‑driven approach.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to collaborate across all levels.
• High level of discretion, reliability and commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
