Technical Sales Support Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for a Technical Sales Support Specialist in Beijing who will support the local sales organisation and its customers in defining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. The role prepares technical descriptions of products and technology to support proposals and acts as a key technical resource in the assigned area, reporting to the EL Sales Support Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Offer technical promotion and pre-sales support, and give technical advice and comments on enquiry specifications from customers, channels and sales engineers regarding ABB products, systems and applications.
• Provide technical support during bidding, technical meetings, product presentations and negotiations.
• Prepare competitive bids, estimates and quotations based on the best available product mix and technical and commercial considerations.
• Ensure tenders are well documented in a timely manner with full and accurate costs, and provide inputs for editing on time and to quality standards.
• Identify potential risks in bids, quotations, estimates and related contracts and take part in the risk review process in line with ABB policy.
• Collect and collate all information needed for proposals, including technical and cost elements.

Required profile

• Degree major in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Basic theoretical knowledge with more than 3 years of experience.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a good sense of teamwork.
