Senior Manager, BI & Data Analytics

About the role

The Senior Manager, BI & Data Analytics will lead analytics for Walmart's China marketplace, partnering with Business Development, Category Management and Cross‑Border Trade teams. The role drives data‑powered decisions on seller acquisition, category growth, logistics and international expansion across China and U.S. time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted analytics advisor to BD, Category and CBT leadership, turning data into commercial recommendations.
• Size market opportunities, prioritize seller sourcing, and quantify TAM/SAM/SOM by category and region.
• Diagnose seller‑funnel drop‑off and propose ROI‑focused interventions.
• Provide assortment gap analysis, price elasticity, promo lift and competitive benchmarking.
• Generate cross‑border growth insights, including GMV drivers, logistics SLA impact, FX sensitivity and new‑market entry cases.
• Build weekly/monthly business review narratives with root‑cause analysis and clear recommendations.
• Lead a team of BI developers and analysts, own the analytics roadmap from descriptive to prescriptive.
• Architect scalable semantic layers, certified metric definitions and self‑service dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, Looker or internal tools).
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on pipelines from BigQuery/GCP, marketplace systems and logistics platforms.
• Develop forecasting models, anomaly‑detection alerts and experimentation frameworks (A/B tests, geo‑holdouts, diff‑in‑diff).

Required profile

• Extensive experience in e‑commerce or marketplace analytics.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills across business and technical teams.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; comfortable working across China and U.S. time zones.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop analytics teams.
