Senior Business Development Manager - Automotive Products

About the role

Johnson Electric is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager in Jiangmen, reporting to the Head of Product Line. The role expands the global customer base and product offering for a specific segment within the Automotive Products Group and formulates strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business growth and P&L for the Motor Drive segment, which includes electrical water pumps, seat motors, EPS motors, EPB motors, powertrain and thermal management systems.
• Work with engineering teams to define the product roadmap and pipeline of new business, then collaborate with project teams to deliver awarded programs and keep customers satisfied.
• Analyse existing and new customers, their purchase criteria and expectations, and develop cost structures and profit and loss statements to guide pricing strategy.
• Take part in commercial negotiations on price, incentives, service and conditions, and manage the P&L of assigned customer accounts.
• Define "right-to-win" and "weak-to-win" scenarios, track competitors and supply chain dynamics, and feed these insights into the product roadmap.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales or key account management; global customer management experience preferred.
• Engineering knowledge of motors/actuators or automotive application engineering.
• Fluent English; Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not required.

• International work exposure is advantageous.
