Manager, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking a Manager, Customer Engineer for its Shanghai location. The role involves developing and maintaining customer relationships, leading a team of customer engineers, and ensuring successful system installations and support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant customers in the district, performing regular visits and acting as the primary interface with product divisions.
• Manage, coach, and direct customer engineers, including salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and mentorship programs.
• Oversee account planning with District Sales Engineer, financial forecasting, cost efficiency, and system installation planning and execution.
• Execute escalation procedures, monitor award and mentor programs, and manage RMA processes and engineer performance metrics.

Required profile

• Provides direction and administers company policies affecting subordinate employees, demonstrating strong leadership.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures to solve problems, ensuring decisions meet objectives and avoid schedule delays.
• Interacts effectively to gain cooperation, presenting technical information and adhering to Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct.
