AIx Field Service Engineer – Shanghai

About the role

The AIx Field Service Engineer will be the primary contact for customer site digital tools, driving continuous improvement and innovation across global operations. Based in Shanghai, you will work on troubleshooting, mentoring, and implementing solutions for advanced semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continual improvement projects and drive innovation for digital tools.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customer site digital tools worldwide.
• Communicate complex concepts internally and persuade stakeholders with differing viewpoints.
• Recommend best practices for troubleshooting and lead troubleshooting efforts using digital tools.
• Provide feedback to digital package owners and implement/test solutions for new issues.
• Mentor colleagues on specific troubleshooting techniques.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in digital product disciplines and basic knowledge of related fields.
• In‑depth knowledge of Applied Materials' digital products, equipment, and fab operations.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and integration with other areas.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small projects.
• Solves complex problems using Applied Problem Solving methodology.
• Communicates sensitive information effectively and builds consensus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital tools for equipment diagnostics.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Knowledge of advanced modeling techniques and best‑known‑methods (BKM).
