IoT Field Engineer – China & APAC

About the role

Canonical is looking for an IoT Field Engineer to support customers in China and the broader APAC market. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers design, develop and secure IoT solutions built on Ubuntu technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Build strategic relationships with technology partners and key customers across APAC.
• Provide technical expertise on Ubuntu, Ubuntu Core, Snaps and related open‑source tools throughout the sales cycle.
• Develop and present technical sales collateral, custom solution proposals and respond to RFx documents.
• Collaborate with Canonical’s IoT, Cloud, sales and delivery teams to grow existing accounts and win new business.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% while based in Shenzhen.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, preferably computer science or software engineering.
• 2+ years of enterprise Linux software development and 5+ years in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese.
• Experience deploying embedded and IoT solutions across verticals such as automotive, robotics, networking and industrial.
