iOS Software Engineer II, Growth

About the role

Duolingo is looking for an iOS Software Engineer II to join its Momentum team in the International Growth area, based in Beijing. You will build and ship features that drive user growth and deliver high-quality learning experiences to millions of learners worldwide, working closely with product managers and designers. The role involves iOS development, experimentation and cross-functional collaboration to improve key metrics such as daily active users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to drive user growth.
• Develop, release and maintain native iOS applications, primarily in Swift.
• Contribute to code reviews and collaborate across teams to ensure quality and scalability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
• 2-5 years of experience programming in Swift.
• Relocation to Beijing, China; the position is based in Beijing.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Swift, with proven ability to build and maintain production-level applications.
• Technical knowledge of iOS mobile app development for iPhone/iPad using Swift with Cocoa Touch and related frameworks.
• Experience designing clean and maintainable APIs.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

What we offer

• Base salary supplemented by equity compensation.
• Salary range: 673,726 to 911,512 CNY.
