Director of Business Development – Automotive Localization

About the role

TransPerfect is seeking a results‑driven Director of Business Development to lead new‑business initiatives within the automotive sector. You will work with major OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers and mobility startups to deliver multilingual solutions that support vehicle launches, technical documentation and digital experiences worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy for key automotive accounts.
• Build and manage a pipeline of prospects through cold outreach, networking, referrals, events and inbound interest.
• Understand each client’s business model and global communication needs to propose tailored solutions.
• Present TransPerfect’s full suite of services, including AI‑powered language solutions, multimedia localization, technical documentation and global content management.
• Collaborate with internal solution specialists to create custom proposals and project budgets.
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions and close multi‑stakeholder deals.
• Maintain long‑term relationships with senior decision‑makers and represent the company at industry events (travel required).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Fluent in English.
• 6‑10+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in automotive, mobility or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and close multi‑stakeholder deals.
• Experience in the localization/translation industry.
