Director, Client Growth & Partnerships, Asia

About the role

Rakuten Advertising, part of Rakuten Group, is looking for a Director, Client Growth & Partnerships, Asia, based in Shanghai. The role leads a portfolio of high-growth regional brands and marketplace clients across Asia, developing regional client strategies, strengthening executive relationships, driving revenue growth and supporting clients' cross-border expansion. It also plays a key leadership function in the Asia Client Services organisation, shaping the servicing model, developing talent and setting best practices for managing large enterprise advertisers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the largest and most strategic regional advertisers, develop long-term account growth strategies and act as executive sponsor and trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders
• Build and maintain relationships with C-suite, VP, director and regional leadership teams, and lead annual business planning and strategic reviews
• Drive retention, revenue growth and expansion, identify opportunities to increase advertiser investment and service adoption, and partner with Sales and Commercial on renewals and upsells
• Support clients expanding into new Asian and global markets, coordinate regional account strategies and ensure consistent service delivery across markets
• Develop expertise across ecommerce, marketplaces, retail, travel, fintech and digital commerce, advise clients on trends and partnerships, and lead complex enterprise engagements
• Lead, coach and mentor Client Services team members, establish servicing frameworks and best practices, and support succession planning
• Act as senior escalation point for strategic client issues, present performance and growth recommendations to executives, and represent Rakuten Advertising at industry events and client meetings

Required profile

• Highly strategic leader with deep experience managing regional ecommerce, marketplace, retail and digital-first brands across Asia
• Strong commercial acumen and executive presence
