Customer Support Technician – MDP

About the role

Join Applied Materials in Beijing as a Customer Support Technician‑MDP, providing on‑site maintenance and technical assistance for semiconductor equipment. You will ensure equipment uptime, support customers, and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily work schedules for preventive and remedial maintenance within assigned territory.
• Perform periodic maintenance (daily to annual) and wet cleans on systems, adhering to established time frames.
• Instruct customers on operation and maintenance, and troubleshoot process variations with senior engineers.
• Manage start‑up activities (Tier II and assist with Tier III), warranty, paid service, and service contract tasks.
• Serve as liaison between Applied Materials and customer front‑line management on technical and administrative matters.
• Track equipment performance, develop productivity plans, and apply Statistical Process Control and Quality Improvement methods.

Required profile

• Physically capable of extensive walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lb, and working in clean‑room environments with required PPE.
• Proficient in analytical processes and understands team integration to achieve objectives.
• Ability to provide informal guidance to junior team members and communicate effectively with customers.
