Customer Support Technician

About the role

Join Applied Materials in Beijing as a Customer Support Technician, providing on‑site maintenance and technical assistance for advanced semiconductor equipment. You will ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction while working in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive and remedial maintenance on assigned systems.
• Perform wet cleans, start‑ups (Tier II and assist with Tier III), warranty and paid service activities.
• Instruct customers on operation and maintenance, and act as the liaison between Applied Materials and customer front‑line management.
• Track equipment performance, implement productivity improvements, and use statistical process control to monitor uptime.

Required profile

• Physically able to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 35 lb, and work in tight spaces and clean‑room conditions.
• Willing to wear required personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and face shields.

Required skills

• Preventive and remedial maintenance procedures for semiconductor equipment.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Improvement Process methodologies.
• Experience with wet cleaning techniques and clean‑room safety protocols.
