Supplier Quality & Assurance Specialist

About the role

Anglo American is seeking a Supplier Quality & Assurance Specialist to support its Global Category Management Team. The role focuses on ensuring that suppliers, particularly in China and other low‑cost countries, meet safety, quality, and compliance standards to deliver contracted goods reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety compliance audits to verify that all suppliers meet Anglo American’s health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Perform on‑site factory evaluations, assessing quality control and assurance processes, production capabilities, and adherence to agreed standards.
• Validate that supplier outputs align with technical specifications and industry standards, reviewing documentation and certifications.
• Execute QA/QC activities, including inspection of materials, components, and finished goods, and report defect rates and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure supplied products meet functional requirements for their intended applications.
• Identify and mitigate compliance and reputational risks related to ethical sourcing, labor practices, and environmental impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supplier quality assurance, safety compliance, and audit execution.
• Strong understanding of technical specifications, industry standards, and documentation review.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical discrepancies.
• Experience in risk identification and implementation of corrective actions.
