NS Surveyor

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an NS Surveyor to perform inspections and surveys on ships in service in Shanghai. The role requires following technical working instructions, complying with BV rules and standards, and preparing accurate inspection documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Performs inspection/survey as directed by the SSQM on the job assignment for each section (SMS).
• Uses technical working instructions issued by the Technical Division of Head Office or local offices.
• References BV Rules, standards, regulations, specifications and relevant drawings as technical guidance.
• Utilises personal safety equipment, BV stamps, tools and notebooks according to work instruction provisions.
• Completes draft inspection certificates, survey reports and information cards within the required schedule.
• Provides information to section secretaries for invoicing.
• Signs and endorses certificates, reports, attestations and other documents related to the inspection/survey.
• Files and updates quality documents, including technical working instructions received.
• Participates in canvassing activities in coordination with the SSQM or delegated SSQM.
• Refers any client claims or complaints to the SSQM or Quality Manager.
