BVN Surveyor – Marine Survey & Inspection

About the role

The BVN Surveyor conducts marine inspections and surveys for ships in service, ensuring compliance with Bureau Veritas rules, standards and client specifications. The role involves field work on vessels, preparation of certificates and coordination with internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections and surveys as directed by the Department Manager for assigned ship sections.
• Follow technical working instructions and BV rules, standards, regulations, specifications and relevant drawings.
• Prepare draft inspection certificates, survey reports and information cards within scheduled timeframes.
• Provide information to section secretaries for invoicing and sign off all issued documents.
• Maintain and update quality documents, including technical working instructions.
• Participate in canvassing activities and refer client claims or complaints to the Department or Quality Manager.

Required profile

• University graduate, preferably in Naval Architecture, Machinery or Automation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ship‑facilities/components inspection or marine surveys.
• Solid background in marine surveys and component inspection.
• Good understanding of BV rules and standards.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
