Technical Manager

About the role

The Technical Manager will support the development and maintenance of Bureau Veritas' analytical platform in China. This role bridges international standards, national regulations and internal test procedures to deliver reliable chemical testing services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt testing methods for the China analytical platform in line with international, national and internal standards.
• Maintain the chemical platform (BVE3, IPE) and support global processes such as Test Capability Development (TCD), Audits (AUD), Correlations (COR), Technical Change Management (TCMP) and Methods (MTD).
• Drive new testing services, including sustainability solutions and MSDS reviews.
• Deliver training, seminars and webinars to internal and external customers on analytical testing, regulatory requirements and customer‑specific needs.
• Respond to technical enquiries, provide timely feedback to management and advise on HSE improvements from a technical perspective.

Required profile

• Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills; additional language proficiency is a plus.
• Excellent time‑management and communication abilities, capable of conducting trainings and seminars.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with national chemical product requirements, MSDS handling and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with analytical instrumentation such as GC‑MS and ICP.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation requirements.
• Ability to review and manage MSDS documentation.
