PT Field Service Engineer

About the role

Siemens Healthineers is looking for a PT Field Service Engineer to provide hands-on field support for proton therapy equipment and ancillary devices. The role covers installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and customer training, and works in small teams with little supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Complete technical service tasks and support their planning and management
• Install and upgrade products according to technical documentation, then check and approve the operational quality of the equipment
• Perform on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex equipment and systems
• Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP) and conduct acceptance condition testing so customers can sign acceptance letters
• Instruct customers on operation and basic maintenance of VMS products
• Serve as company liaison with the customer on administrative and technical matters and interpret customer needs
• Maintain technical documentation, keep detailed records of installation and upgrade work, and report regularly via FSRs, time sheets and expense reports
• Handle parts inventory and ordering, including spare parts kits and consigned parts
• Advise less experienced Installation Representatives on technical matters

Required profile

• Professional experience in electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, including testing, verification, checkout and calibration of equipment
• Technical experience with micro-computer/PC-based systems
• Customer-focused attitude and articulate interpersonal communication
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Completion of the LMS training plan for the Oncology Systems business and meeting vendor credentialing requirements for client site access

Required skills

• Sound computer usage and debugging skills
• Sound knowledge of networks and networking techniques
• Sound understanding of imaging systems
• Familiarity with business tools such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP product is desired
