MAP Structure Engineer – Aircraft Structural Specialist

About the role

The MAP Structure Engineer works within the MAP Structure team at Airbus Tianjin Delivery Centre, supporting the final assembly line and flight test centre for the A320 family. The role ensures aircraft structural readiness, handles non‑conformities and drives continuous improvement across fuselage and wing junctions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure permanent structural readiness and safety for ground and flight operations.
• Perform design, stress assessments and deep‑dive investigations for aircraft configurations.
• Conduct comprehensive troubleshooting, inspections and detailed analyses to resolve complex technical issues.
• Deliver robust technical solutions for non‑conformities, deviations and repair actions.
• Act as central point of contact, coordinating with global MAP offices, flight test centres and customer teams.
• Lead efficiency and continuous‑improvement projects such as NC eradication and process optimisation.
• Support the introduction of new technologies and participate in flight‑test activities when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Design, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in aviation structural engineering.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Strong knowledge of fuselage architecture and metallic/composite repair techniques.
• Ability to work flexible hours, provide on‑call support and travel to Europe.
• Integrity, responsibility and resilience under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CATIA.
• Experience with Google Workspace.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Stress analysis capability.
• Use of Airbus Structural Repair Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog.
