Key Account Manager

About the role

Valmet is seeking a Key Account Manager to drive growth with major pulp and paper customers across Asia. The role involves leading sales activities, building long‑term partnerships, and delivering lifecycle solutions that improve mill performance and business results.

Key responsibilities

• Drive pulp and energy sales within selected key customer mills and achieve agreed sales targets.
• Develop strong customer relationships by monitoring mill operations, identifying opportunities, and creating proactive sales plans.
• Lead sales cases, coordinate virtual and cross‑functional teams, and connect multiple Business Units to deliver optimal solutions.
• Develop service agreements, coordinate lifecycle service offerings, negotiate commercial terms, and manage account receivables.
• Represent Valmet as a key negotiator, act on customer feedback, drive corrective actions, and monitor competitor activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pulp & Papermaking, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• More than 10 years of experience with pulp mill customers combined with proven sales experience.
• Deep knowledge of pulp mill processes, equipment, operations, and maintenance.
• Strong commercial acumen, ability to develop profitable solutions and achieve targets in demanding situations.
• Excellent English and Chinese communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work across global boundaries.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Valmet sales systems.
• Experience using databases for customer and business analysis.
• Ability to generate reports with reporting tools.
