Health & Safety Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Health & Safety Engineer to support the HSE manager in continuously improving occupational health, safety and environmental performance at our Qingdao plant. The role involves implementing HSE management plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and driving risk mitigation across operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the HSE manager and lead continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental matters at the plant.
• Execute the HSE department’s responsibility matrix and enforce company policies and statutory duties.
• Plan and implement HSE management plans to optimise risk management on site.
• Provide expert advice, supervise the production safety responsibility system and resolve HSE issues.
• Coordinate global HSE processes, develop location‑specific procedures and ensure they are understood and followed.
• Maintain ISO14001 and ISO45001 certifications, participate in internal audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Report HSE data and indicators, conduct environmental impact and risk assessments, and support new investment projects.
• Investigate accidents and near‑misses, implement corrective actions and follow up on their effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
• Professional HSE certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Environmental Engineer) preferred.
• Minimum five years of full‑time HSE experience.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Fluent verbal English.
• Conscientious, responsible and open to innovation.
