Field Sales

About the role

Join Alfa Laval in Shanghai to drive sales of our advanced membrane and process solutions. You will work closely with customers across energy, food, water and shipping sectors, translating their needs into tailored product offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established sales processes to promote and sell Alfa Laval products.
• Analyze market insights and customer buying behavior to develop sales plans aligned with business targets.
• Identify and manage leads, converting them into business opportunities to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
• Conduct customer visits, meetings and interactions to understand needs and highlight product value.
• Gather customer requirements and translate them for internal teams.
• Collect competitor information on customers, orders and products.
• Coordinate with technical colleagues and central teams for project execution.
• Prepare quotations and bidding documents that reflect customer needs and unique selling points.
• Use CRM and other tools consistently to support the sales process and decision‑making.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of sales experience, preferably in membrane business.
• Background in dairy or fermentation applications is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, food science, biochemistry or related fields.
• Technical sales orientation rather than purely commercial.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Strong interpersonal and networking abilities, both internally and externally.
• Resilient, adaptable and able to maintain performance under pressure.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM tools.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
