Early Years Teacher (Pre-Nursery) - February 2027

About the role

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science, a partnership between King's College School, Wimbledon and Nanjing Foreign Language School, is adding a Pre-Nursery class for children aged 2.5 to 3 in February 2027. The school brings together bilingual and international students in small classes of 15-18 children, with Chinese and international educators working together. The teacher helps children become confident, curious and resilient learners through play, inquiry and hands-on discovery, indoors and outdoors, including in four garden spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Create a warm, safe and stimulating environment for children aged 2.5 to 3
• Plan engaging learning through play, inquiry and exploration
• Develop children's communication, early literacy, creativity, physical development and early mathematical understanding
• Build confidence, independence, self-regulation and social skills
• Observe children's development and plan appropriate next steps
• Use indoor and outdoor learning environments effectively
• Work closely with Chinese and international colleagues
• Build positive relationships with parents and families

Required profile

• Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Years Education, Primary Education, Education or a closely related field
• Recognized teaching qualification, license or certification such as UK QTS/EYTS/PGCE or an equivalent US, Canadian or Australian credential
• At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
• Experience with Pre-Nursery, Nursery or comparable Early Years age groups
• Experience in an international, bilingual, British or comparable Early Years setting
• Able to meet Chinese work-permit requirements and able to start in February 2027

Required skills

• Strong understanding of early childhood development
• Experience with play-based, inquiry-led and child-centred learning
