Director, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing, is seeking a Director, Customer Engineer to lead customer satisfaction, financial performance and service delivery for its Shanghai site.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all business issues across the account site, including customer satisfaction, P&L, and budget management.
• Anticipate future customer needs and drive delivery of high‑value service commitments and solutions.
• Serve as the primary interface for operational and service commitments, owning overall site responsibility for customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a skilled workforce aligned with current and future service requirements and oversee employee development.
• Collaborate with senior business group management to align programs, strategies and processes with the Business Unit’s direction.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of systems, theories and practices relevant to equipment engineering and service.
• Strong commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance.
• Proven leadership ability to manage managers, execute segment plans and influence senior executives.
• Advanced problem‑solving skills for complex business challenges.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills at senior executive level.
