Manager IV, Customer Engineer – FEP/EPI (Guangzhou)

About the role

The Manager IV, Customer Engineer leads the FEP/EPI service organization in Guangzhou, overseeing start‑ups, warranty, and service agreements for semiconductor and display equipment. The role combines financial forecasting, team leadership, and direct customer interaction to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑ups, warranty, and service agreements.
• Identify and pursue new service‑agreement business together with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost constraints.
• Oversee local inventory and RMA procedures, maintaining DSO targets.
• Control system start‑up and warranty costs within reserve budgets.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system reliability.
• Interview, hire and train customer engineers to support regional business.
• Promote employee satisfaction through clear communication, goal setting and career development plans.
• Enforce safety practices for all customer engineers.
• Escalate system downtimes promptly to minimize service interruption.
• Report operational metrics accurately and on time.
• Achieve guaranteed uptime and other service parameters as sold to customers.
• Drive quality‑improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and enhance technical performance.

Required profile

• In‑depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles within the customer‑engineer job family.
• Strong knowledge of the semiconductor/display equipment industry and its business objectives.
• Proven ability to lead a homogeneous team, adapting plans to meet service and operational challenges.
• Skilled at identifying and resolving technical, operational and organizational problems.
• Impactful influence on service quality, volume and timeliness outcomes.
