Computer Science Teacher - Middle and High School

About the role

BASIS Bilingual School Guangming Shenzhen is seeking a qualified Computer Science Teacher for middle and high school for the 2027‑28 academic year. The role involves stimulating students' curiosity, introducing foundational CS concepts, and preparing them for AP examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Introduce and explore STEAM topics such as coding, 3D modeling, robotics, electrical engineering, multimedia, and productivity tools.
• Guide middle and high school students in design strategies, data organization, common algorithms, and AP test preparation.
• Foster meaningful relationships with each student to ensure personalized learning trajectories.
• Support students in achieving academic excellence, personal responsibility, and intellectual growth.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, collaborate with colleagues, and stay current with educational best practices.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative school community.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum two years experience as a lead classroom teacher (visa requirement).
• Strong ICT‑CS skills; background in Design/Technology teaching and familiarity with ISTE standards is preferred.
• Team‑player attitude eager to share and learn from international colleagues.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of international education.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
• Experience with block‑based coding environments.
• Use of 3D modeling software.
• Robotics or electrical engineering project experience.
• Competence with productivity and multimedia tools.
