Buyer – Supply Chain & Manufacturing

About the role

RIVR, part of Amazon, is looking for a Buyer to join its Supply Chain and Manufacturing team. You will be responsible for sourcing parts and equipment needed for robot prototyping and volume production, while ensuring timely delivery and cost‑effective procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with engineering teams in China and at RIVR HQ to capture technical requirements for parts.
• Identify and qualify a pool of suppliers, arrange technical reviews and obtain quotations.
• Negotiate costs, lead contract discussions and issue purchase orders according to production plans.
• Track supplier delivery performance on time and quality, and maintain detailed documentation.
• Monitor market risks such as material shortages or price spikes and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support ERP system implementation and continuously improve supply‑chain processes, standards, and templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Business Management.
• Minimum 1 year experience in volume production projects (e‑bike, consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial robotics).
• Hands‑on experience managing a complete product from concept to mass production.
• Proactive attitude, able to lead complex and chaotic projects.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Bonus: early‑stage startup experience and ability to read technical drawings.
