About the role

Springer Nature’s Nature Portfolio is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor for Nature Synthesis. The role involves overseeing the editorial workflow for original research on chemical and materials synthesis, ensuring high‑quality content for a global scientific audience.

Key responsibilities

• Handle original research papers from submission to publication.
• Collaborate closely with editorial teams on manuscript evaluation, peer‑review coordination and decision‑making.
• Commission and edit Editorials, Reviews, News & Views, and Comment pieces relevant to synthetic chemistry and materials science.

Required profile

• Academic or professional background in synthetic chemistry, biochemistry or organic materials.
• Strong critical assessment skills and the ability to make sound editorial judgments quickly.
• Passion for staying abreast of developments across chemistry and materials research.

Required skills

• Expertise in synthetic chemistry.
• Knowledge of biochemistry.
• Understanding of organic materials science.
