Trends Editor – Open Access Scientific Journal

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic scientist to join the Trends Open editorial team as a Trends Editor, supporting life and medical science review content for our open‑access multidisciplinary journal. The position offers the chance to work across a broad range of scientific topics and collaborate directly with the Editor‑in‑Chief.

Key responsibilities

• Identify key authors and research topics where a review will benefit the community.
• Manage a pipeline of high‑quality articles across the life and medical sciences.
• Oversee the peer‑review and editorial process, ensuring timely decisions.
• Edit manuscripts to enhance scientific messaging and clarity.
• Collaborate with the Editor‑in‑Chief and Cell Press editorial family to raise the journal’s visibility.
• Represent the journal at conferences and public forums.
• Execute AI‑ and data‑driven innovations to meet evolving community needs.

Required profile

• PhD in life or medical sciences (post‑doctoral training is a plus).
• Prior editorial or developmental editing experience is highly recommended.
• Genuine passion for science and scientific communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach to time management.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a solution‑oriented mindset.
