Trends Editor – Open Access Scientific Review Journal

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic scientist to join the Trends Open editorial team and help shape high‑quality review articles across the life and medical sciences. Working directly with the Editor‑in‑Chief, you will support authors and drive the journal’s impact in the open‑access publishing landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Identify leading authors and emerging research topics for review articles that benefit the scientific community.
• Manage a pipeline of high‑quality manuscripts, overseeing peer review and editorial processes.
• Edit submissions to improve scientific messaging, clarity, and overall impact.
• Collaborate with the Editor‑in‑Chief and the Cell Press editorial family to increase the journal’s visibility.
• Represent Trends Open at conferences and public forums, engaging with the broader scientific community.
• Implement AI‑driven and data‑based innovations to meet the evolving needs of authors and readers.

Required profile

• PhD in life or medical sciences (post‑doctoral experience is a plus).
• Prior experience in editorial or developmental editing is highly recommended.
• Strong passion for science communication and a broad interest across multiple scientific disciplines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive time‑management, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
