Assistant Manager – Sales (Engineering Plastics) – Chongqing

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Sales – Engineering Plastics will drive profitable growth for assigned customers in the Chongqing region. You will develop sales plans, secure orders, and ensure accurate forecasting while supporting BASF’s sustainability and digitalisation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own profitable business growth for assigned customers and develop detailed sales plans.
• Identify and profile key accounts, implementing agreed sales and marketing directions.
• Scout new business opportunities, create business plans, and propose product developments.
• Conduct field visits, seminars and presentations; respond to quality, technical and inquiry issues.
• Monitor customer credit, coordinate with credit control, and ensure timely payments.
• Implement pricing policies, support product launches and marketing campaigns.
• Perform market intelligence studies on trends, competitors and technology.
• Accelerate innovation sales targets and support sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales and business development within chemicals or engineering plastics.
• Strong ability to manage key accounts and develop accurate sales forecasts.
• Excellent customer‑facing skills, including field visits and presentations.
• Capability to work with credit control and ensure on‑time payment collection.
• Understanding of pricing, product launch processes and market analysis.
