Freelance Simplified Chinese to Korean Patent Translator

About the role

TransPerfect is seeking experienced freelance linguists to translate and proofread technical and pharmaceutical patent documents from Simplified Chinese into Korean. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere while delivering high‑quality translations for international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Translate patent texts from Simplified Chinese to Korean with accuracy and consistency.
• Perform post‑editing of machine‑generated translations (MTPE) and thorough proofreading.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet tight deadlines and client expectations.
• Sign confidentiality agreements and complete qualification tests as required.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal proficiency in both Simplified Chinese and Korean.
• Specialization in technical or pharmaceutical patent terminology.
• Strong attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
• Either a degree in translation/linguistics with 2+ years experience, 5+ years experience without a degree, or a certified competence in translation.
