Technical Sales Support - Medium Voltage Components

About the role

ABB is building a new Technical Support team for its medium voltage (MV) indoor component OEM market in China. This Technical Sales Support role reports to the Sales Support Manager and delivers technical sales support to deepen customer collaboration, drive innovation and improve customer experience. It integrates ABB deeper into partners' standard designs and supply chains and unlocks new business opportunities through agile technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support field sales engineers and panel builders in early-stage projects, influencing project specifications and drafting project-based technical bulletins
• Support bidding and quotation processes, and gather competitive intelligence and customer needs for the Product Management Team
• Deepen ABB's integration into panel builder standard designs and supply chains, offering customized configurations and co-designing solutions for Grid Automation and Monitoring & Diagnostics
• Bridge front-end sales and back-end execution, expand cooperation from component sales to system solutions, and link directly with manufacturing units for project execution
• Manage the regional project pipeline, give forecast input to manufacturing units for capacity planning, and handle non-standard solutions and complex technical requirements
• Deliver regular training to field sales engineers, partners and customers on products, solutions, ordering processes and execution best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Power Systems or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in technical support, sales engineering or application engineering in the electrical industry
• Experience with medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers or related components is preferred
• Familiarity with the OEM market and partner collaboration models
• Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English
• Comfortable with frequent business travel

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of medium voltage electrical products and applications
• Proficiency in product configuration and ordering tools and processes
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
• Understanding of relevant electrical standards (IEC, GB)
• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and technical documentation
