Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of our mission-critical applications and cloud infrastructure on Alibaba Cloud. The role is based in Shanghai and works from our office, collaborating closely with software, DevOps, and platform teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system instability, application crashes, and production incidents to maintain high availability.
• Perform root-cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and drive continuous improvement to reduce recurring issues.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions for proactive health checks.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to improve performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Automate operational processes, deployments, and infrastructure management while promoting SRE best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering or production support.
• Proven experience supporting high-availability, cloud-native or large-scale enterprise environments, preferably on Alibaba Cloud.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams with cross-functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Alibaba Cloud services (compute, storage, networking, monitoring, security).
• Strong Linux systems administration, incident management, root-cause analysis, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Automation and scripting using Shell, Python or Bash.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability tools for monitoring and logging.
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) – nice-to-have.
