Public Area Supervisor – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Public Area Supervisor ensures that all public spaces within the hotel – including lobbies, restaurants, offices and back‑of‑house areas – meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, restaurant outlets, offices and back‑of‑house spaces in line with hotel standards.
• Keep plants, furniture and fixtures in excellent condition to provide a fresh and tidy environment.
• Train team members on the proper use of cleaning machines and chemicals according to established guidelines.
• Conduct daily inspections of function rooms, outlets, public areas, restrooms and offices.
• Report any maintenance issues to the Engineering Department and verify that corrective work is completed.
• Assist with emergency procedures such as fires, power outages or security threats.
• Ensure colleagues are familiar with in‑house facilities to support guest needs.
• Supervise cleaning schedules, verify compliance and provide courteous service to guests.
• Handle guest queries and requests in accordance with hotel standards.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduate.
• Relevant experience in hospitality or public‑area maintenance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to train and supervise staff.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies.
• Commitment to delivering service that meets hotel quality standards.
