Principal Procurement

About the role

The Principal Procurement professional leads supplier negotiations, contract management and order execution to ensure reliable supply for an industrial organization. This senior position works closely with end‑users, global teams and internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with corporate policies and cost‑saving objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate price, delivery, payment terms and establish contracts in compliance with company regulations.
• Monitor order execution, manage deliveries, payments and resolve emergencies to maintain supply certainty.
• Collaborate with end‑users and global teams to capture requirements and enforce global policies.
• Document and archive purchase orders, contracts and vendor qualification records consistently.
• Conduct annual supplier assessments and develop a robust indirect‑category supply base.
• Lead problem‑analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement of sourcing procedures.
• Build strong relationships with internal customers, procurement teams and external suppliers.
• Partner with Global Commodity Managers on strategic initiatives and drive cost‑reduction targets (6‑8% YoY).
• Ensure on‑time delivery performance (≥98%) and develop secondary sources for critical materials (≥80%).
• Maintain compliance with technology control, IP protection, export regulations and corporate purchase codes.
• Support special projects, report progress and provide recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in industrial supply chain, technical or quality functions.
• Minimum 5 years of team‑management experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating with Admin, MRO, Facility, EHS and Logistics functions.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects in a matrixed organization.
