Principal Field Application Engineer - Automotive MCU

About the role

As a Principal Field Application Engineer you will provide technical support for automotive MCU‑based applications, working directly with customer engineering teams to ensure successful project execution across domains such as BMS, body/zone controllers and infotainment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote technical assistance for MCU bring‑up, peripheral configuration and system integration.
• Debug hardware, software and system‑level issues, including drivers, RTOS integration and AUTOSAR Classic (CP) components.
• Support customers on automotive cybersecurity topics such as secure boot and secure communication.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions and on‑site debug sessions for key accounts and mass‑market projects.
• Deliver workshops, reference‑design guidance and collect feedback for internal product teams.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in automotive electronics, embedded systems or customer‑facing technical support.
• Strong customer orientation, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with automotive MCU platforms and peripherals (ADC, timers, PWM, communication interfaces, DMA).
• Proficiency with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, trace, logging, memory analysis).
• Knowledge of embedded software stacks, BSPs and peripheral drivers.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic (CP) concepts and integration.
• Basic understanding of automotive cybersecurity (secure boot, secure communication) and functional safety (ISO 26262) concepts.
