Plant Manager

About the role

The Plant Manager will lead the chemical manufacturing site, ensuring safe operations, high on‑time delivery and continuous improvement of production processes. This senior position reports directly to senior leadership and is responsible for both operational performance and people development.

Key responsibilities

• Champion compliance with all safety rules and promote safety practices in line with PRC and company guidelines.
• Drive operational performance, including OTIF, warehouse efficiency, inventory control and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and mitigate hazards related to safety, health and environment, considering people, plant and community impacts.
• Improve manufacturing capability by reducing cycle time, recommending capital projects and advancing process improvements.
• Maintain high on‑time delivery by increasing first‑run rates and reducing batch hits.
• Support new product introductions and ensure successful manufacturing runs.
• Investigate internal and external quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop employee careers through cross‑training, internal promotions and external training opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external stakeholders to sustain company values and operating licences.

Required profile

• University or college degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8‑10 years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, preferably multinational.
• Strong knowledge of local legal requirements for chemical site operations, occupational health, safety, environment and security.
• Familiarity with non‑technical areas such as accounting, HR, IT, supply chain, regulatory affairs and product stewardship.
• Fluent English with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
