Manufacturing Unit Manager, ITS and CNXDR

About the role

ABB is looking for a Manufacturing Unit Manager for its ITS and CNXDR manufacturing unit in ELDS China, reporting to the Business Manager - Commercial and Operations. The role covers the full scope of production, engineering, procurement, quality, operational excellence and logistics, ensuring established targets are achieved through progress oversight and defined improvement actions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the product group manufacturing strategy in the country within your area of responsibility and provide input on product group strategy.
• Develop proactive strategies to increase business profits, customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
• Focus on operating cash flow, project on-time and on-cost, Requested On-Time Delivery (ROTD) and cost reduction.
• Improve manufacturing technology and competence in line with business unit strategy.
• Drive quality improvement through target setting, monitoring and benchmarking, and execute quality management for day-to-day process control.
• Improve productivity, delivery performance and cost optimisation, and ensure manufacturing resources act on issues raised through the Customer Complaint Resolution Process, Internal Transactional Partnership Survey, Top 5 Quality Initiatives and other customer voice initiatives.
• Coach and mentor teams, build effective and high-performing teams, and seek knowledge for your own development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
• Solid experience in operations and a proven track record of leading the P&L of a business organisation.
• Strong leadership skills to lead the team and drive continuous improvement and targets at strategic and operational levels.
• Ability to attract, motivate, develop and retain a dynamic team.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
