Maintenance Shift Technician – Equipment Up‑Time Specialist

About the role

Join Corning’s Display Technologies team as a Maintenance Shift Technician. You will be responsible for keeping critical LCD production equipment running at peak performance, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze equipment downtime, identify root causes and implement improvement actions.
• Perform daily troubleshooting and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment up‑time.
• Execute weekly, monthly and quarterly preventive maintenance (PM) according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
• Manage spare parts inventory, conduct incoming quality checks and document parts replacement.
• Lead cross‑training for technicians and provide PM certification training for operators.
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets, forecasts, SOPs, ISO compliance and TPM‑5S initiatives.
• Support shop‑floor equipment and tool improvements and assist routine maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• College degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, installation, alignment, repair and lubrication.
• Strong understanding of equipment design, servo motor, inverter, ball screw, linear guide and air‑cylinder systems.
• Experience with pneumatic system maintenance and LOTO procedures.
• Proven ability to apply preventive‑maintenance principles and focus on customer needs.
