HR Manager, APAC

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead human‑resources operations across the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Based in Suzhou, China, you will support employees in India, China, Taiwan and Australia, ensuring consistent HR practices and a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement annual HR programs and initiatives across the region, including compensation reviews and policy rollout.
• Manage employee relations matters, investigations and compliance with local employment laws, collective agreements and company policies.
• Provide guidance to managers on performance, attendance, conduct and workplace issues, and support audit and reporting requirements.
• Lead regional employee engagement, recognition, wellness, inclusion and communication initiatives.
• Coordinate performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and employee development activities.
• Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and employer‑branding efforts.
• Drive the implementation of global Talent Acquisition programs in partnership with regional HR teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HR operations and programs across multiple countries or regions.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and collective agreements in the covered markets.
• Demonstrated ability to handle employee relations, investigations and compliance issues.
• Experience leading employee engagement, wellness and inclusion initiatives.
• Background in performance management, talent review and succession planning.
• Successful track record in talent acquisition, workforce planning and employer branding.
