Game Localization Linguist – Chinese to English (Beijing)

About the role

We are looking for a native‑level English speaker fluent in Mandarin to join our Beijing team as a Game Localization Linguist. You will translate and adapt Chinese game content into English, ensuring cultural relevance and high linguistic quality for mobile and other platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Translate in‑game text, UI strings and marketing materials from Chinese (ZH‑CN) to English.
• Revise and edit translations to maintain style consistency and meet quality standards.
• Perform linguistic LQA, correcting grammatical, typographical and wording issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to preserve original tone while adapting content for target players.
• Participate in creative meetings, providing linguistic input to avoid cultural misunderstandings.
• Coordinate with the LPM team on timelines, deliverables and resource planning.

Required profile

• Native‑level English proficiency and fluent Mandarin.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on Chinese‑to‑English game localization experience.
• Strong understanding of Chinese and English cultures for accurate adaptation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and consistent delivery of high‑quality work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for gaming and awareness of mobile gaming trends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with localization tools and content management systems.
• Experience conducting linguistic quality assurance (LQA).
