Data Engineer – Post Trade Analytics

About the role

Jump Trading's Post Trade Analytics team is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain sophisticated data sets and pipelines that support performance measurement and trade execution analysis across global markets. Based in Shanghai, you will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and data scientists to deliver reliable, high‑quality data products.

Key responsibilities

• Build, operate, and maintain complex datasets and end‑to‑end pipelines for real‑time and next‑day analytics.
• Collaborate directly with traders, researchers and data scientists to translate data requirements into production‑ready solutions.
• Implement validation frameworks, monitoring, alerting, data lineage and incident response to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Optimize data processing workflows for performance, cost efficiency and robustness; troubleshoot pipeline failures.
• Maintain internal tools, documentation and operational runbooks.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Based in Shanghai with reliable, predictable availability.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Python development.
• Linux and DevOps environments.
• Design, orchestration and scheduling of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with relational and non‑relational databases, schema design and query optimisation.
• SQL proficiency.
• Data‑analysis libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• C++ (optional but a plus).
