Commissioning Editor – Collections Management & Acquisition

About the role

The Commissioning Editor will drive the growth of commissioned content for Springer Nature journals by creating and managing Topical Collections. Working with editorial boards, data scientists and marketing teams, you will identify high‑impact topics and recruit Guest Editors and authors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement commissioning strategies across key journals, using market intelligence and data analysis.
• Identify, recruit and engage Guest Editors and authors for topical collections.
• Manage the collection pipeline to meet ambitious publication targets.
• Define best practices for the collections lifecycle and coordinate promotion with marketing.

Required profile

• Demonstrable planning and organisational skills.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Adaptability, resilience and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
